Help, and a real reply.
Real questions, short answers, and a person at the end of the email address. Nothing here routes through a bot.
The ones we keep getting.
Where do I get it?
Biojrnl is on the App Store and Google Play, for iPhone and Android. It is free to start, and the paid plans are optional.
Do I need an internet connection to use it?
Once you are signed in, Biojrnl works offline. Your record is written to and read from your own phone. A connection is needed to create or sign in to your account, for optional cloud backup and for sharing a profile with somebody else.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If cloud backup was on, sign in on the new phone and your record comes back. If it was off, the record was only ever on the lost device, which is the trade-off you chose with that setting. Backup can be turned on at any time, per profile.
Can I keep a record for my mother, or my child?
Yes. That is what managed profiles are for, on the Family and Care plans. Each person gets their own separate record with allergies and conditions pinned to the top, and you can invite a sibling as a co-manager (accepting the invitation needs a Family or Care plan of their own) or hand a carer a time-limited guest pass. A guest uses the free app; no subscription needed on their side.
Will Biojrnl alert anyone in an emergency?
No. Entries are not monitored. Biojrnl does not alert a clinician, a family member or an emergency contact when something is written down. In an emergency, contact your local emergency service.
Will Biojrnl tell me what my results mean?
No, and it never will. Biojrnl records what you enter and shows it back to you. Interpreting a result is a clinician's job. The app is built to make that conversation shorter and better informed.
Is there any AI in Biojrnl?
No. Nothing writes entries for you, nothing summarises you, and nothing learns from your record. The app keeps what you wrote and shows it back. The writing is the point.
Does it connect to my watch or pull in my vitals?
No, and that is a choice rather than a gap. Biojrnl is for what you notice and decide to write down. An app that pours readings into a journal produces a feed nobody reads. A line you wrote yourself means something at an appointment, and if a number matters to you, you enter it.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 16 to create an account. A child's record is kept as a managed profile inside an adult's account.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
From inside the app, under More, then Settings, then Danger zone, then Delete all my data. There is a thirty day window in which you can change your mind, after which it is gone. The full steps, including what to do if you cannot sign in, are on the delete your account page.
Is my data used to train anything?
No. Your health data is used for one purpose, which is showing your own record back to you. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used for research or model training. The privacy policy says so in binding language.
I found a security problem.
Thank you, genuinely. Write to security@biojrnl.com. Our disclosure details are published at /.well-known/security.txt.
