Delete your account

Your data is yours. That includes the right to remove it entirely.

This action is permanent once the 30-day window closes. Deleting your account removes all your health data, journal entries, medications, blood results, appointments, and profile information from our servers. You have 30 days to change your mind; after that it cannot be undone.

Option 1: delete from inside the app (recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the Biojrnl app:

  1. Open Biojrnl and tap More in the bottom navigation bar
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Scroll to the Danger zone and tap Delete all my data
  4. Confirm it is really you: re-enter your password, or re-confirm with Apple or Google if that is how you sign in. Nothing is deleted without this step
  5. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete my account to confirm

The timeline, precisely. For 30 days your account and any cloud copy are kept so you can change your mind: sign back in and choose Keep my account. The journal stored on the device itself is removed the moment you delete, and comes back on recovery only if cloud backup held a copy. When the 30 days end, your account and every record in it are erased from our live systems within a further 24 hours, and our short-term disaster-recovery backups expire on their rolling cycle in the days that follow.

Option 2: request deletion by email

If you no longer have access to the app or cannot sign in, you can request account deletion by email:

How we check it is really you. A deletion request by email is acted on only after we have verified that the request comes from the person who controls the account: we reply with a confirmation code to the email address registered on the account, and deletion begins only when that code comes back to us. We never delete an account on the say-so of a third party, and a request concerning another person's records requires proof of the legal authority described in our Privacy Policy. We will acknowledge your request within 5 working days; the same 30-day change-your-mind window and erasure timeline as Option 1 then applies.

What gets deleted

  • All journal entries, medications, blood results, vaccinations, appointments, and trips
  • All documents and file attachments
  • Your profile information (name, date of birth, health details)
  • Your authentication record (email address and user ID)
  • All managed profiles you created and their associated data, unless you handed one to someone else during deletion

Subscription cancellation

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. To avoid being charged after deletion, cancel your subscription first:

  • iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Biojrnl → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Biojrnl → Cancel
